Model Development

Biotrial is a leading contract research organization (CRO) that provides a full range of drug development services, including model development for clinical trials. Our team of experts is well-equipped to assist you in designing a tailored model that aligns with your final objectives, timelines, and cost constraints.

We understand that preclinical and clinical development are inextricably linked, and our preclinical and clinical teams work closely together to generate more predictive and translational models. We design specialized tools to evaluate efficacy and outcomes for proof of concept projects in the early stages, as well as for addressing safety concerns in the later stages of development.

Acknowledged for our flexibility and scientific expertise, we develop innovative experimental approaches and leverage our collaborative and integrated work style to provide full-service drug development solutions for pharmaceutical companies. We support our sponsors throughout the entire drug development process, from discovery to preclinical to clinical trials, and we are committed to helping them bring new therapies to market quickly and efficiently.

Preclinical Model Selection

The selection of the appropriate preclinical model and experimental design is a strategic and critical step in the drug development process. It is essential to choose a model that accurately reflects the disease of interest and that is predictive of the drug’s efficacy and safety in humans.

If the perfect model for your project is not available, contact us and let’s discuss together your needs. Our team of experts is well-equipped to assist you in designing and implementing a tailored experimental approach.

You will be supported by our pharmacology team, composed of highly experienced scientists in a variety of disciplines (surgery, behavioral science, animal welfare, etc.), as well as our cutting-edge technology platforms (histology, imaging tools, flow cytometry).

Our close proximity, both geographically and collaboratively, to Rennes 1 University and Pontchaillou University Hospital, represents a unique advantage in enhancing our expertise across a broad range of therapeutic areas.

Oncotrial

A Collaborative Approach to Innovative Oncology Model Development

Oncotrial, established in 2015, is a unique collaboration between Biotrial and researchers from the University of Rennes 1. Oncotrial’s core business is to develop and exploit innovative preclinical cellular and animal models in oncology.

Oncotrial’s projects are set up and monitored by a Scientific Council bringing together academic and private researchers are implemented thanks to the material and human resources provided by this unique structure.

As a result, Oncotrial has developed strong expertise in various murine models of tumors (lung, breast, ovary, prostate, etc.), in particular through an orthotopic approach (implantation of tumors within the organ of origin) and by developing cutting-edge tools for monitoring the growth and dissemination of tumors (e.g., MRI, Bioluminescence).

We also have specific expertise in developing models for the following therapeutic areas:

  • Immuno-oncology: We have a deep understanding of the tumor microenvironment and the immune system, and we can develop models to assess the efficacy and safety of immuno-oncology therapies.
  • Gene therapy: We have experience developing models for gene therapy products, including both viral and non-viral vectors.
  • Cell therapy: We can develop models to assess the efficacy and safety of cell therapy products, such as CAR T-cells and stem cells.

We are committed to providing our sponsors with the highest quality services to ensure the success of their preclinical model development projects.
